1. Cooling - The large fan prevents the Pro from overheating. If the fan slows down or stops where it can not effectively keep the power pack at a normal operating temperature the pro will overheat and automatically shut itself off.
2. Vacuum - The large fan is also generating the vacuum to draw the mosquitoes into the net. If the fan slows down or stops there will be a reduction in vacuum and will not draw the mosquitoes in as well.
